So I’ve recently found ways for my paranoia of my things getting stolen to relax a little and thought it would be nice to share this information on here. Sadly this isn’t common knowledge and it should be, especially if the technology you own is expensive and not the cheapest to replace.
Luckily there are options out there for free and very inexpensive ways to protect your stuff, or make it possible to locate your items.

First tip is for iPhone. iPad and iTouch Owners …
If you have recently gotten one of these you’re one of the lucky people who gets a free limited Mobile Me account. Now limited sounds pretty lame and it kind of is, but what you’re limited to
is not. You’re allowed to use the “Find My Phone†feature absolutely free and it’s pretty easy to set up and use.
1. Go into your Settings and select “Mails, Contacts, Calendarsâ€
2. Under “Accounts†select “Add Account…â€
3. Select the mobileme icon
4. Then at the bottom select “Create Free Apple IDâ€
5. Fill out the information and follow the additional steps
6. When done go into the MobileMe account you just added and turn on “Find My Phoneâ€
You can then go the www.me.com, sign in, and see where your phone is, lock or wipe it to protect your data, and send it messages telling people who happen to  find your phone where to call to give it back to you.
(Added tip: If you have restrictions enabled you can make it to where you’re the only one who  can add/delete accounts so if you loose your phone, no one can turn this feature off)
