I Get Stressed When…

… I over book myself (last week I taught 6 times).

… I’ve offend someone without meaning to (not that I ever truly mean to offend someone).

… my wife has a bad day at work.

… we’re behind on an upcoming event or project.

… my car won’t start right away or sputters at a red light.

… I feel people expectations are greater than my abilities.

… a police officer is driving behind me.

… I’m running late.

… it seems the bills are greater than the bank account.

What stresses you out?

Let’s offer them to Jesus together.

“I feel people’s expectations are greater than my abilities.” I absolutely relate to these and appreciate your transparency.

    I agree with Lauranne.

I identify with that stressor myself. For me that’s probably pretty high up on my list. Feeling like I don’t measure up ties me down sometimes. Sometimes almost to the point where it handicaps my efforts to try.

Another big one for me is when it seems that the time available lacks in comparison to the time I think I need.

But I am not the creator of my abilities, nor the author of time! Confession has been a large focus for me lately. It’s really causing me to draw closer to God.

“Jesus, thank you that your burden is so much lighter… here, let’s trade!”

    Thanks for sharing, David!

I would say that’s a pretty good list of “stress items.” I also get stressed by really bad, dumb drivers.

I get really stressed when people have the wrong idea of me, but won’t let me change their minds. I always like to let people know my heart, and it gets very stressful when they’re too close minded to see it.

That is tough! That stresses me out as well
